Oil paint. 20" x 22".
The last survivor of an early college art project at where I painted a dozen
abstract paintings that had odd frames of found wood and driftwood with the canvas fringed and tacked to the front, very avant guard I imagined, this was before I studied art history. My teacher Basil King told me they were "almost paintings".
This is on a very heavy hunk of barn wood which was already a frame but not square.
5 of us lived on a old farm in Michigan surrounded by apple and cherry orchards. Very cold in the Winter.
Painting abstractly with wild abandon.
