Simple sets * Scenic design * Karle H. Murdock

Below is a One Act Play, the name escapes me, Staring Dan Greene (standing) Jeff Dillon (in motion) and the older guy who kept showing up for auditions when no one else did, Lew. There was also a second one act play called Mere Mortals that needed an entirely different set so these pieces had to move off stage during intermission. Keeping the white floor and clouds with a couple of columns and a bed for Mount Olympus. The actors had to move the scenery so it was not too heavy. They had to stand on it so it was very strong and stable. I was the honorary director and designer of this play. Dan and I hung the lights according to a rough plot from Jeff. VLT had a two channel analogue board, about 20 instruments with just enough cables. I painted the set and collected or made props. I didn't have to build the set or buy the materials. I did have to bribe the guys in the shop with donuts to get it done ahead of time. This was part of the summer theater program 1996 at Venice Theatre's Stage 2 before the renovation. Community theater is a fantastic place to learn that the show must go on
